Spent part of today’s working time doing the math. I dunno why but it helps me break projects down into something that makes sense to me. Project A needs to be so long, which means taking my average word count on the sample chapters and figuring average per page divided by the final count to get my target page count. Are you lost yet? :dizzy:

Depending on how my sample chapters work out when I’m done tweaking, I’ll have my average page length per chapter. Not sure if I’m going to have 20 or 30 chapters at this point. Keeping the chapters shorter might work better for the action and pacing. That part of the math is still up in the air.

But I have a road map for Project A and I’ve done the numbers both ways (shorter chapters and longer). I have my synopsis. I’m good to go. Also, the ending is written. I’m whacky this way, I like to write the beginning, the ending, and key scenes in between. Good thing there’s no rule that says you have to write linear. Cut and paste lets you put everything where it belongs.

Projects B and C have short blurbs. Next step, synopsis and sample chapters. I have the beginnings of sample chapters for both, but I’ll need the full chapters not just my rough scenes. And C is a 3-novella anthology proposal so I’ll need to synopsize all three stories.

Oh, yes, and there’s this other book I’m working on, the con artist caper book with the fun cover. I did say I’d be busy. Beats being unemployed. 8)
