My assistant, the cat, was very busy this weekend.
Cat: The wiggly, the wiggly, I caught the wiggly!
Me: *getting up to look* You brought me a snake. Good kitty! *call for husband to remove snake*
a few hours later
Cat: the digger, the digger, I caught the digger!
Me: He brought us something. What IS that?
Husband: Is it a vole?
Cat brings prize to door, lays it down in triumph
Husband: Groundhog. He caught a groundhog.
Me: It’s almost as big as he is. How can he carry that?
*husband removes groundhog*
a few hours later
Cat: mouse, mouse, mouse! Here!
Me: Good kitty. Thank you.
*husband already on the way to remove corpse*
Nothing dares invade our yard. At least, not for long.
Hey! I’m back from RT. Had a blast, got lots of stuff, and took pictures. I’ll post them, hopefully tonight. Next year is in Columbus Ohio, I can’t wait. 🙂
Welcome back! Look forward to the pictures.
Good kitty! I have a hunter cat too. The voles shake in fear. The birds shake in laughter.
He patrols the yard while the kids are out playing. He’s very dedicated. And possibly thinks he’s a dog.
My husky/lab is a bunny killer. Unfortunately the bunnies haven’t learned to avoid the house with the killer dog. He actually got two in one night. They do get their revenge, he usually comes in with fleas (and I have to watch for worms – YUCK!. Bad dog – he sleeps on the bed.
The other really awful thing, I have no husband to dispose of the corpses. I have to do it myself. Note: Bunny guts are not as cute as bunny outsides.
Lisa, you seriously need somebody for corpse disposal! Hope the bunnies learn to run faster.
I don’t know about dogs, but cats can get a thing once a year to prevent worms. Well worth it. Also, Advantage is the only thing we’ve found to truly get rid of and prevent fleas. Apply to back of neck once a month and no problems!
ROFL I wouldn’t worry about anyone breaking into the house, not with a killer cat like that patrolling the perimeter.
He is fierce and mighty. And he snores when he sleeps.
