As you can tell by the fact that it’s been nearly a week since my last blog entry, it’s been One Of Those weeks. So, to start this one off, Five Good Things:
1. Iron clears the brain fog and exhaustion. Yay iron.
2. Sleepless child slept last night.
3. Mailed Mom’s birthday present before her birthday.
4. Dr.’s office called to say last week’s ultrasound was “very reassuring”, i.e. no need for follow-up testing.
5. Story is not done, but what is done is good. And today, there will be more story accomplished.
Share your good things!
Let’s see . . . .
1. I walked about fifteen miles total yesterday, which is the most I’ve done in a single day in about a year. My feet are a bit sore, but the bad knee feels fine.
2. I successfully refused to sample a huge handmade mound of candy handmade from dark chocolate, luscious caramel and fresh pecans. Which was offered to me twice, no less. But while it was being waved under my nose I did inhale the aroma probably more than was necessary. P.S., if any of you out there make handmade candy, please don’t offer it to people who you know are on very strict diets. It’s worse than hammering bamboo shoots under our fingernails.
3. Slayed another deadline — a short, tough one — right on time.
4. Got a thumbs-up on my finished revisions for Nightshine, so it’s heading into production.
5. I made a nice dinner at home tonight instead of caving in and letting my guy take us out (I was really tired, and he was being a sweetheart, but I hate eating out when I’m exhausted.) After all the restaurant food I had to eat while I was out of town, I really needed my own cooking, too.
Those are all very good things. I would’ve caved on the chocolate, I don’t know how you resisted twice. I’m not doing 15 mile walks, but I go up and down a lot of hills so I figure the miles I do really count. *g* Yay for the deadline and Nightshine!
