I needed a theme song for Animal Attraction (Real Title Under Construction), and I remembered a great punk album from the 80s that had a song about wolves running together. I couldn’t remember the name of the band, but I was pretty sure the album was called Big Black Sun. So I googled Big Black Sun, and voila, up pops the band X and the song Hungry Wolf.

It’s a good thing I listened to punk in the 80s is all I can say. I don’t know how I’d ever get anything written without the right music. (Now I listen to “alternative”. See, I’ve evolved.)

I still don’t have the title right for this book. I’d like to have Wolf in the title, like my other werewolf tales, but for those I used word play and St. Martin’s is not big on humor in my titles. It’s not supposed to sound funny (although if you ask me, werewolves in a mall in Virginia are pretty damn funny), but it’s supposed to sound hot and paranormal. Which is how I hit on Animal Attraction to begin with. It sounds hot and werewolfish, and I haven’t come up with anything better.

I dunno. Sex and the Single Shapeshifter, anyone? Yeah, yeah, it’s not supposed to be funny…

Meanwhile, here’s another one for the playlist, Wild Thing. X, they rock.
