It’s Friday! And I’ve got a plan.
Today I re-evaluated my projects to do for 06 and put some things on the back burner. I didn’t initially know how my Samhain series would go over, or if it would happen at all beyond the first two books, so I had some other things planned. Things which, as I said, are now going to the back burner.
I also took to heart Jordan’s post about fears and strengths and Jo Leigh’s post about fear and decided it was high time to tackle Secret Project A. I may even work up some sample chapters of Secret Project B. But A is what I’m going to hit when I turn in Miss Lonely Hearts, I’ve decided. It’s first person, it’s single title, it’s probably going to be hard, but after Wolf and Beast, I’m not as scared of hard. I’m just going to need lots of brownies and coffee. And I’ll make “All Star” by Smash Mouth my anthem.
I may whimper here from time to time, but I am going to double-dog-dare do it. I will nail that sucker. How hard can it be? (Stop laughing, Dad and Steve.) The husband is making a dummy cover for me to use as a visual aid. And I’ve got plenty of dutch chocolate courage.
Today, though, I get back to work on Miss Lonely Hearts because the deadline hasn’t gone away and that brilliant plot twist I thought up won’t work itself in.

How hard can it be? Well, the dug the Chunnel, they built the pyramids, they flew to the moon…and I figured out how to set the timer on VCR. I would say nothing’s impossible. It just takes a little more time and effort.

Well, it’s got to be easier than setting a VCR.
