PBW’s list of what she read in a week had my jaw hanging open and my soul writhing in envy. All that reading! I don’t get time to read that much. But I am making more room in my schedule to read, and I thought I’d start with keeping track of everything I read and listing it here. Maybe once a month, my month in books. I’ve never kept a reading journal, but I’ve noticed several readers do and it strikes me as a good idea to at least write down on a list somewhere all the books, magazines, etc. I read. (Another recent decision: read more magazines. I got out of the habit, and I could stand to broaden my reading horizons.) So I will keep track through July and do a round-up at the end of the month.
What I’ve read in the past week:
Stray, Rachel Vincent
All About Evie, Beth Ciotta
The Good Guy, Dean Koontz
Up next: The Unfortunate Miss Fortunes, Crusie/Dreyer/Stuart.
What are you reading?
I just finished Rebel Ice by S.L. Viehl (aka PBW), and am currently reading Storm Front by Jim Butcher at home, and Plague of Memory at work (also by PBW). Next on my list will probably be Holly Lisle, since she generously sent me a box of her books. Have a great weekend.
I still haven’t read Plague of Memory. Eeep. I have got to read Jim Butcher, all my friends are reading the Dresden Files and I feel left oooouuuuuut.
I know!
I used to think I read really fast. Then I found out she reads 2-3 times what I read in a week!
I read pretty fast, May, and can easily read most books in 1-4 hours depending on length. But my reading time is so limited that there’s no way I’ll ever match her! I am making it a higher priority, though, and I think keeping a reading log will help.
I’ve been keeping track of all the books I’ve read since Jan. 07. I want to see how many I read in a year. I don’t track the magazines. I could, but I don’t think putting down how many US magazines I read would look very good. *ggg* Last night I finished Charlaine Harris’ Club Dead, book three of Sookie. I’m still reading 13 Bullets and plan to finish it this weekend. 🙂
Smart. I should’ve started at the New Year. Sigh. I could probably re-create my reading list by going back through my journal, but it’s easier to just start from where I am and keep it in a list.
And magazines count. *g* It’s all fodder for the brain, bits of information, trivia, current events, pop culture.
Have you ever seen PBW and Harriet Klausner in the same room? No, I don’t think that you have. I believe the msytery is solved. 😉
Snort! Mystery solved, PBW is Amazon’s #1 reviewer!
I just finished Rises the Night, by Coleen Gleason. Love that series.
Last night I started Slave to Sensation, by Nalini Singh. 🙂
Anya, I don’t suppose you’d tell me if Sebastian comes back in that one? I find it hard to believe he’s dead.
I still have StS in my TBR pile. Geez, I’m behind.
