My weekend has been full. Kids, house, laundry (oh the laundry), changing sheets, final pre-turkey shopping, cleaning things that held still and bathing things that didn’t. Today I decided why wait until Thursday to eat the good stuff and put the ham in the oven with baked brie and put mashed taters and green beans on the stovetop. I mean, the point of Thanksgiving is the leftovers. As in days when I don’t have to cook and nobody cares! I’m all for starting the season of no cooking with no repercussions early. And this way, my family is likely to be lenient if the turkey doesn’t get defrosted at the right time.
Somewhere in there, the husband held still while I bounced my plot off him. Not only did this result in clarity and direction, but it explained why it was so tangled in the first place; it’s freaking complicated. I would like to write an easy book next, please. Although that’d be more likely if I quite coming up with ideas that required multiple plot lines.
I also updated my Amazon shopping cart because there are books out there I do not own and that’s just wrong. So now Ilona Andrews, Kim Harrison and Patricia Briggs are in my cart. And I have clean laundry, a full stomach, and an untangled plot. I feel so much better. Thankful, even.
I’m jealous of your dinner. I just had pimento cheese.
I love all three of those authors. I’ve pre-ordered even…
Annmarie, I don’t cook like that all the time, trust me. *g* I have upcoming titles by all 3 pre-ordered, too.
I believe I have solved the dilemma of how to fix what was wrong with the book I just got a rejection for. It came to me while listening to a performance of the orchestra.
Your dinner sounds yummy. Enjoy your cooking-free days. 🙂
Cheers for musical inspiration! Happy fixing. And I am loving the days of microwave meal magic, thankyouverymuch. *g*
My no-cook holiday is Christmas Day. I don’t spend one second of it in the kitchen, except to take out the deli and seafood platters I’ve ordered and set them out for an all-day buffet. Everyone loves this tradition, especially me. 🙂
This year I’m teaching my daughter step-by-step to make our traditional family Thanksgiving dinner, and then next year she’s going to make it by herself (with me on call in case she needs assistance.)
My husband cooked Christmas dinner last year. It was awesome. Great plan to pass the cooking torch; I’m already teaching my small people to cook and they’re picking it up. They like to measure and stir things.
I have some traditional T-day cooking to do still but I’m spreading it out. Yesterday I made the cranberry bread. Today I’ll do the sweet potato souffle.
Enjoy your early Thanksgiving treats and the leftovers.
Thanks, NJ! : )
