Kids have colds. I’m telling myself my symptoms are allergies. Yep. Allergies. And weeks like this make us turn to creature comforts.
1. Purring, snuggling cat
2. Good books
3. Or good stories on Reading Rainbow if you cough too much to read out loud
4. Throat Coat tea, possibly the most soothing beverage ever invented
5. Blankies
6. Especially blankies that are quilts made by family members
7. warm socks; Fleece Feet are my favorites
8. soup
9. beautiful sunrises
10. the soothing sound of rain falling
1) Resting with my head in Mama’s lap
2) Back rubs
3) REAL mac and cheese
4) Cold cloth on my forehead
5) Favorite nightgown soft from many washings
6) Book that has been read so many times it practically reads itself to me
7) Chicken and Dumplings
8) Orange Zinger
9) Mango Cat snuggled against my tummy
10) 600 thread count (or better) sheets.
Oh, you reminded me. Flannel sheets, the ultimate snuggle! And comfort foods. Mashed potatoes and gravy and meatloaf. So much comfort!
My creature comforts this week have been blueberry pie with ice cream, new books by old friends, and fresh peaches. 🙂
Hope you have a great weekend (and feel better soon).
Blueberry pie! NOM. Thanks, I am all better. You have a good weeekend, too!
