I kind of debated posting this now, because it’s well ahead of the release date, but it’s fresh in my mind and really you’ll want to pre-order anyway. *g*

Every once in a while I read a book so good, so well done, that I find myself reading it three ways. One is pure enjoyment, wallowing in the experience. One is envy. “I want to write like this!” One is analytical. “How did he/she do that?” Agnes and the Hitman is one of those books.

This book does everything right, and it has everything. Action, suspense, romance, humor, food, true love with a body count, a wedding and the mob. Add flamingos, hot shrubbery and a twenty-five year old mystery and you have 384 pages of a very good time.

The Crusie/Mayer partnership has gone to a new level and I cannot wait to see what they’ll come up with next, although it’s impossible to imagine topping this one. Agnes and the Hitman is one of the best books of the year. Don’t miss it.
