Slave to Sensation

Welcome to a future where emotion is a crime and powers of the mind clash brutally against those of the heart.

Sascha Duncan is one of the Psy, a psychic race that has cut off its emotions in an effort to prevent murderous insanity. Those who feel are punished by having their brains wiped clean, their personalities and memories destroyed.

Lucas Hunter is a Changeling, a shapeshifter who craves sensation, lives for touch. When their separate worlds collide in the serial murders of Changeling women, Lucas and Sascha must remain bound to their identities…or sacrifice everything for a taste of darkest temptation.

Summertime and the livin’ is sneezy

The husband and I both got hammered by allergies this past week. Dunno what’s in bloom, but whatever it is hit us hard. Finally we got smart and picked up an OTC remedy and now I don’t feel like my head is full of cotton and I can actually think and focus. Amazing.

Another sign of changing seasons, the hyperactive spiders are starting to show up again. I’m not sure what they’re called, but there are these manic arachnids that pop up for about 6 weeks at the end of summer to early fall and put webs EVERYWHERE. I mean, they’ll span Deception Pass.

This gets tricky for hikers, because you have to carry something to sweep the webs out of your way, and then when you turn around to head back down the trail the webs are already rebuilt. Somebody can be five minutes ahead of you on the trail and they’ll get rebuilt. These spiders are on crack or something, I’ve never seen anything like it.

So, sneezing, manic spiders, other than that it’s business as usual. I read The Rocky Road to Romance and laughed a lot and I’m writing up my RTB column for tomorrow. A little last minute, but I had the head full of cotton slowing me down.

Pastry or linkage?

Okay, I can either write another post about pastry or direct you to other people of interest today.

PBW has a haiku day: join in!

Alison Kent’s Complete Idiot’s Guide is coming soon and has blog reviews.

Jordan forwards the post on the importance of buying new.

Cheyenne has the update on Camille Anthony’s fund. If you don’t want to contribute to Save the Quiet Kitty, consider buying her books at Ellora’s Cave. She also has titles at Changeling Press and Loose Id. Her only income is from writing.

Okay, back to eating pastry. I mean, er, writing. A lot.
