The book currently known as Wolf’s Touch needs, apparently, a zippier title. Something that says “werewolf” and “hawt” but is distinctive from all other hot werewolf titles on the market. The story is distinctive, of course, but the title needs to reflect this. Tough job for a title. To make it tougher, this is the first book in a series and must be “repeatable” throughout the series. I’d proposed a naming scheme that used the hero’s species in the title, and I still think that’s the best way to go, hence “Wolf” in “Wolf’s Touch”. But “Touch” isn’t as catchy as marketing would wish, so here I am looking for catchy, sexy words that go with “Wolf”.
Suggestions welcome. Suggestions will be fallen on with giddy relief, in fact.
Dances with Wolves is taken, but I’d kick a few strong nouns and action verbs around, and pair them with Wolf or Wolves. You can also try different combinations of words and coin something new, although what looks attractive grafted onto Wolf is probably minimal (Wolfyn was my first thought as I’m on a -yn with my stuff, but it looks too much like Wolfy.)
I’ll play with the words today and e-mail you a list of what I come up with. 🙂
Can you give us a blurb? Sometimes it helps (me) to play word association games.
PBW=Goddess! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Amie, the short version: an apprentice witch and a werewolf meet and fall in love despite a centuries long enmity between their species while keeping a demonic book of shadows out of the wrong hands.
Feral Heat, Feral Touch, Feral Instinct. No, I’ve never been good with titles. I got lucky with Red. *g*
Jordan, Red’s a good one. I was also very partial to Revenge of the Sky Goddess. Too bad you had to change that one!
Wolf’s Embrace, Wolf’s Seduction, Wolf’s Woman…not great, but it’s Monday morning. LOL
Thanks, NJ!
