Summer’s ending and you can really feel it up on Hurricane Ridge. The wildflowers are almost done for the season. An awesome vista, well worth the drive, with a nice walking trail around the top to keep visitors from disturbing the fragile meadow flora. There is something about getting a new perspective. Hurricane Ridge gives you the view from the top of the world.

*sob* I love fall and winter. LOVE it. Unfortunately we still have plenty of fry eggs on a sidewalk hot left before we get fall like weather 🙁
I put the down comforter back on the bed last night. It’s getting nippy, and the fall colors are really turning. Fall is here!
Oh Charli, that picture is beautiful. I so miss the mountains. Sigh.
It’s gorgeous up there, Jordan. Cold! But gorgeous. That part of the park is going to close soon, so we had to get up there while we could. The Olympic Mountains are amazing. One thing we love here is that we have mountains and coast all in one spot.
That is an incredible picture. Thanks for sharing!
Nic, glad you liked it. It’s amazing to be up above the treeline.
sniff…we missed you on the train. I MISSED you on the train. Stunning photo…makes me just want to walk into it and keep walking.
Rhian, I originally wrote a haiku about the vanishing snowpack but it was too sad and I didn’t want to start off the week bumming everybody out about how the glaciers are melting. But it is sobering to see up close.
Heck, that picture is a poem all by itself. I miss the mountains (sigh). Lovely picture, thanks for posting it.
Ann, sometimes a picture IS worth a thousand words. *g* You’re welcome!
Awesome picture. I love fall and am looking forward to it. We didn’t have much of a summer, so I’m ready to move on to the next season. 🙂
NJ, we kind of skipped summer here, too. Not sure what that means for winter, but fall’s always nice.
Wow — how amazing is that?
I hate winter. LOL Completely and utterly.
I like Fall — warm, but no mosquitoes, good food, apple picking, etc — too bad we can’t just jump from Fall to Spring…
Sam
Fall is my favorite time of year, too, Sam. I like the change of seasons, it’d be boring if it was the same all the time.
