Our little girl lost her first tooth this week. Quite a milestone. She is officially turning the corner from baby, toddler and preschool days. That’s the big news in our household.
In our community, the big news is that FEMA has opened an office in town. This is tremendous because insurance doesn’t cover everything (although I wanted to hug our insurance agency for contacting us pro-actively with an email that said, “click here for flood claim assistance”). This is welcome news for families hit hard by the Dec. 3rd storm. Families and businesses alike will be recovering for some time.
And yesterday, when we made the trek around the lake, we stopped for the road report to learn that the herd of elk had already crossed Highway 101 at the power station and the road was clear.
I can’t tell you how funny I find it that travel news follows the movement of a herd of elk instead of heavy commuter traffic. That is life in Forks, right there. First tooth lost, FEMA is in town, and the highway is free of elk.
LOL That’s my kind of travel news, although right now, I’m stuck in the middle of the city.
Congrats to your little girl on her tooth. *g* That is a huge deal.
NJ, it kills me. “This morning’s traffic report; the elk herd has crossed the highway…”
We were so taken by surprise with that first tooth! We hadn’t prepared her for it at all because I thought there’d be more time. I should’ve known she’d be ahead of schedule, she always is. She had all her teeth early, and that means they start losing baby teeth earlier, too. But wow, my little girl is growing up! She’s awfully cute with the gap.
