Just finished reading Lorelei James’ latest, Tied Up, Tied Down. Ahhh. Nobody writes cowboys like she does. I love the way she writes families and all the connections and complications, the way she writes about the west, and way she mixes hot and bothered with warm and fuzzy. Not just a hot read, but a comfort read at the same time. If you want a cowboy fix, go download Tied Up, Tied Down. Highly recommended. (Stands alone even if you haven’t read the rest of the McKay’s, but of course you’ll want to glom the whole backlist afterwards.)

i just finished that not long ago too – liked it so much i still have it in my Palm. 🙂
normally i’m all ewww when babies are involved in stories but in this case it was such a powerful central point of the story and how the characters psychologically interfaced that it totally worked for me. Plus i just adore the whole McKay bad boy clan. Lurv them!!!!!
Love those bad cowboys. *g* And yes, it was so well done. She didn’t sanitize or romanticize the messy emotions an unplanned pregnancy created, or the aftermath of figuring out a relationship while trying to cope. I liked how the characters both made mistakes but they were believable, human mistakes, not throw-the-book-at-the-wall kind of mistakes. And they learned and grew. Awesomely well done. Plus, smokin’ hot sex!
Thanks, Charli, I’m so glad you liked it enough to recommend it!
Kota – glad I skated by the eww factor with the baby 🙂
Lorelei, it was a terrific read, and as I said, so realistic in the emotions. How’s the next one coming?
Thanks!
How’s Rough, Raw and Ready going? (Looking over my shoulder for my editor) Slow. Almost done with first draft but I’d hoped to be done long before now…
Sometimes they just come slower. Hurrah for the finish line ahead!
