I got the synopsis for Kiss of the Demon (Shadow Guardians #2) done yesterday, and I have the playlist together. Now writing chapters and out of order scene snippets. (I write it down as it comes, put it in order later.) It’s really helping to have other projects in tandem, because the dark fantasy stuff is intense. Taking breaks from it makes it flow better.
Here’s the playlist:
Du Hast, Rammstein
Ribbons, Sisters of Mercy
Never Enough, The Cure
The Ghost in You, Psychedelic Furs
When You’re Gone, Avril Lavigne
Patience, Guns n Roses
It’s a weird mix, but it makes the muse happy.
That’s nothing, the playlist for my urban fantasy included classical music, showtunes, and Evanescence. 🙂
Maybe that’s what I need to do, come up with a new playlist (the playlist was the only thing I lost when the desktop died).
Ann, whatever works for the story! Music alters your brain waves, so when you find the piece that puts your mind in the right place for the scene or story, it’s a big creative boost. Who cares if the mix is weird? *g*
I’ll have to check out some of those songs, Charli. I’ve found “When You’re Gone” seems to work for most mss of mine…love it! 🙂
Carolynn, Avril Lavigne is good writing music! So’s Pink. Rammstein’s all in German, but I think you’ll find them interesting.
Hmmm…I’m not familiar with a few of the artists on your playlist. Congrats on getting the synopsis done!
The onlly thing that matters is that the playlist works for you, gets those creative juices flowing.
I like Evanescence. I also like movie soundtracks like Dracula and The Crow.
NJ, movie soundtracks can be great writing music. And thanks, it is a good feeling to get a synopsis done! I have one more to finish now.
