In the follow-up to the TED talk linked below, Sir Ken Robinson calls for an education revolution that’s personalized for individual strengths. And his most recent book addresses the issue of finding your natural talents and passion. It’s a trend! Turns out that the same things adults need to deal with today’s challenges are the tools we need to give our kids to deal with tomorrow’s.
All of which makes me feel better about the time I’m spending digging in dirt because I have a passion for gardening and for eating fresh produce. Unfortunately, deer share that passion so today I’m reapplying the
Liquid Fence to discourage them.

Um, I haven’t gotten Flickr set up on the Mac yet. : O I have taken some pictures and will be taking more. The kiwi is looking amazing and has tiny fruit on it; the rhubarb is ready to pick; flowering bushes are gorgeous and there are blueberries and strawberries ripening! I am hoping to finish planting today, it’s been taking me forever to get it all in.
I used to be very good at riding horses, but it’s been a long time since I’ve ridden. Sadly. As for other skills, I’m not sure I can remember. Scatches head….
Jordan, life gets too narrow when you start writing books. I am still gearing up for reacquainting myself with horses this summer. (Waiting until school’s out) I find it’s easy to tell myself I have to do the laundry, take out the trash, etc. but I have to justify riding and rowing as “wellness and prevention”. Sigh.
