1. Money may not buy happiness, but $140 at Costco buys a rockin’ gel-memory foam mattress topper. A good night’s sleep = priceless. The broken mattress is still broken but it’s easier to ignore when it’s muffled and covered by (level) inches of comfort.
2. My repainted purple desk is dry and set up and ready to use. Hurrah. It used to be a white Ikea desk, much battered in move, hence the layers of purple enamel paint applied by husband. I actually like it better this way.
3. It’s supposed to be rainy this weekend. In the Pacific Northwest, in fall. Shocking, I know.
4. Rainy fall days make snuggly cats extra snuggly.
5. We are blowing off today to go see wooden boats. Because we CAN.
TGIF!
Pictures of purple desk please. 🙂 Purple is my most favorite color! I *heart* cool, rainy fall days too. I wrap up in my purple Slanket!
Hubs and I have a
Tempur-Pedic. It’s the best two grand we EVER spent. I haven’t had a bad night sleep on it since we got it.
Wave to my hubby – we live on the East coast and he is in Seattle for work. *grin*
I’ve got a purple desk pic to upload. : ) Thanks for the tempur-pedic rec. Shoes and beds, two things you want to be comfortable in.
Is the gel foam topper squishy, Charli?
(have been eyeing the tempur-pedic for a while–but oh, the price!).
It’s actually fairly firm. The gel beads keep you from sinking too much, and it’s also helped still the motion in the mattress along with muffling the coils. It does squish enough to feel comfy.
The tempur-pedic price tag is hefty. A friend tells me the best mattress she ever had was straw, significantly cheaper. But you have to restuff every six months and I’d probably be allergic to it.
