1. Oddwalla. Horrible looking but surprisingly tasty and full of the stuff that gets your get up and go from horizontal to vertical.
2. Coffee with a shot of espresso in it, aka a Shot in the Dark. Because vitamin caffeine is essential nutrition.
3. Oatmeal. It’s boring but it sticks and provides slow-burning fuel for sustained energy.
4. A walk in the fall air. Oxygen! Vitamin D and K!
5. A fun project to work on. Nothing keeps you going like interesting work and something to look forward to. When the work is not very fun, I like to make lists of 5 things I could put in that would entertain me. Since every job, however fabulous, has moments of Endless Grinding Slog, try listing 5 ways to make it interesting.

For me it’s tea not coffee that gets me going in the morning. Peppermint!
I almost had oatmeal this morning, but opted for peanut butter toast instead. It’s getting nippy enough outside to warrant oatmeal.

Oddwalla is my secret weapon against mornings. *g* We started buying it at Costco. And it is definitely nippy enough for oatmeal! Kids are now wearing coats and hats when we go out.
