I came across a blog article about choosing a word of the year instead of making resolutions, and the idea really resonated with me. I pondered my word and decided that the word for 2012 is…expand.
I want to expand my thinking, my abilities and capabilities, my relationships, my learning, my earning, my creativity, my productivity, my strength, my stamina, my efficiency, my experiences, my options and opportunities.
“Expand” is on my desktop where it will act as my inspiration and compass for the year.
Just don’t EXPAND thy waistline. 😉
Ooh, good one!
I hadn’t planned to pick a word, but a word picked me: Manage.
And the Girls in the Basement are correct. I need to manage my time…and all the stuff you listed, Charli.
So far, so good…managing my way to a good 2012!
Hmmm. Didn’t mean to be anonymous. “Manage” is what Mary Jo/MJ is doing.
haha, Denise, since I gave birth 6 months ago my waist has shrunk dramatically. However, “expand” fits my goals since I still can’t hike up to Blue Glacier wearing a 30 lb pack. That’s an overnight hike and a day hike is making my incision hurt still. Thus I expand my strength and stamina. Day hiking is helping, so is yoga.
MJ, I knew it was you. *g* I love your word for 2012 and may you manage everything with grace!
I’ll have to condense my “color outside the lines” theme for 2012, and I think the one word for them is traverse. I want to cross over into new and unknown territory, and see what’s out there beyond what I know. I’m already making some progress in that direction.
I like the idea of seeing it as a compass, Charlene. I’m always desperately in need of a good navigator. 🙂
Traverse, I love it! That’s a word to go places on. I need a compass, a map, a GPS…
